The Church was very happy with The Inquisition (or should we say ‘The Abyss’) because everyone was back under the umbrella of the Church again (mostly of fear more than loyalty or faith). In the 19th century, they took a 6-year old boy from his Jewish family because they were informed that his nursemaid secretly baptised him. The Church didn’t approve that a Christian kid was to be raised by a Jewish family. His father wasted his life trying to seek any help but no one could help him against the absolute power and authority of the Church.

But as always, the end was coming and it was near.

It seemed like a perfect world for scientists back then. Everyone aspired to be a scientist and excel and contribute in something. The environment was perfect. There were almost no problems to practice science and collect knowledge. For centuries, the Islamic Empire was the beacon of science and knowledge in the world. But as we’ve seen so far in our story, nothing can last forever especially if it is a good thing. ‘The Abyss’ was there waiting for a chance to attack and destroy as always.

And they did.

Of course, they thought of him as a god. And for almost the end of their days they worshiped him. Even kings were naming themselves on his name as an indication that they are the medium between him and the people. The Mayans started developing on their knowledge. They developed their own advanced numerical system. They build a lot of great pyramids and other monuments. But among all, they were distinguished in astronomy. They studied the sky a lot. They studied the movements of bodies in the sky. By the time, astronomy became complex enough that not any Mayan could study it. And that when ‘The Abyss’ came back.
