Chapter 25 (Yes, you are a genius, But…)

The Church was very happy with The Inquisition (or should we say ‘The Abyss’) because everyone was back under the umbrella of the Church again (mostly of fear more than loyalty or faith). In the 19th century, they took a 6-year old boy from his Jewish family because they were informed that his nursemaid secretly baptised him. The Church didn’t approve that a Christian kid was to be raised by a Jewish family. His father wasted his life trying to seek any help but no one could help him against the absolute power and authority of the Church.

But as always, the end was coming and it was near.

Chapter 24 (Xecutions Everywhere)

The Inquisition was a set of rules developed to prosecute anyone accused of anything related to religious doctrine (any thing against the Church’s beliefs). They made sure to do their best.

Chapter 23 (War of Beliefs)

With all that happening in the cities of Europe, everything started to go up instead of down for the normal people. There, in the cities, it all started.

It seemed like everywhere else on Earth, east and west is going fast forward and Europe is going darker and darker under the rule of the Catholic Church. Chapter 21 (The Umbrella of the Church)

And since then, the Muslims were done. They never gained back their glory in any field because of the religious misguidance of their religious leaders and the corruption of their rulers.

Chapter 20 (Treason)

It seemed like a perfect world for scientists back then. Everyone aspired to be a scientist and excel and contribute in something. The environment was perfect. There were almost no problems to practice science and collect knowledge. For centuries, the Islamic Empire was the beacon of science and knowledge in the world. But as we’ve seen so far in our story, nothing can last forever especially if it is a good thing. ‘The Abyss’ was there waiting for a chance to attack and destroy as always.

And they did.

Chapter 19 (Sunny Days For Science)

It feels like the whole planet was determined to banish them. But unlike Atlantis, the Mayan civilization still exists with their buildings, drawings and other stuff they left behind.

Again son, the love for power had major consequences and threw a great civilization away. This closed another chapter in our story as we are moving closer and closer to the end.

Chapter 18 (Revolution)

The total eclipse was terrifying to the people because the sun was their most sacred object. They even had two gods for the sun not only one. It was terrifying to the priest-astronomers as well because that threatened their power over the people.

Something had to be done.

Chapter 17 (Quiet! The Sun’s Gone)

Of course, they thought of him as a god. And for almost the end of their days they worshiped him. Even kings were naming themselves on his name as an indication that they are the medium between him and the people. The Mayans started developing on their knowledge. They developed their own advanced numerical system. They build a lot of great pyramids and other monuments. But among all, they were distinguished in astronomy. They studied the sky a lot. They studied the movements of bodies in the sky. By the time, astronomy became complex enough that not any Mayan could study it. And that when ‘The Abyss’ came back.
