We’ve been talking about future inventions and technologies since the start of the month. And we discussed some really world-changing technologies. But what about living as much as you can to enjoy them?
Or AKA “Life Extension Science“, is the study of slowing down or reversing the processes of aging to extend both the maximum and average lifespan. So, does eliminating the aging process really makes you live longer? Well, some think – including me – that this is not necessarily true. But living a life with no disease, aging problems, weaknesses … etc will definitely look longer to me.
So, imagine a future with no aging problems, an eternal youth. How promising is that?
The trend of “Life Extension” is becoming popular in the last few years. Many organizations are devoted for that goal like Maximum Life Foundation and Science For Life Extension Organization. Even Google has announced Calico, a new company that will focus on health and well-being, in particular the challenge of aging and associated diseases.
There is actually a very good progress in this field. Some researchers at Harvard Stem Cell Institute find protein (GDF-11) that reverses some effects of aging in mice. And it is expected that by 2026 we can regenerate the youth of our hearts using the same protein.
So, what do you all think of this?
